With a steeped history in client services, Pickle’s skills behind the music are delivered with a professionally glossed client experience. The centre piece for any production is simple… what is the most appropriate music to energise the occasion.

Outside of music, Rob started his professional career within hospitality services and included 2 years as a headwaiter for a wedding and specialised functions venue at a prestigious country estate in the UK. He spent 6 years at a top tier investment bank in the city of London as a senior member within the operations department after earning a joint bachelors degree in business and marketing. Since arriving in Margaret River, he started his own business ‘Pickalicious’ whilst playing an instrumental management role at a newly established and now one of the favoured cellar door and restaurants in the region- Fishbone Wines.

Now running Pickalicous full time, Rob’s broad skill set ensures his overall service, attention to detail and effective delivery is deeply ingrained in his professional make up. He truly understands what is involved in the construct and delivery of a well-organised and entertaining production.

Iliya Hastings – General Manager @ Brewhouse, Margaret River

Brewhouse Private Pickle“A lot of great musicians pass through the vibrant Margaret River creative culture and as I’ve been immersed in that scene myself for over 20 years I’ve seen a lot come and go. But every now and again someone comes along who really makes an impact and pushes things up a notch. Rob Southgate, aka Private Pickle, is one such act.

With just the right blend of charisma and humility, this UK native brings a big vibe and a whole lotta love to every dance floor that he plays. With seamless mixing and a massive, diverse library of banging tunes, Private Pickle has been passionately rocking things in the South West over the last year. Playing big house parties, the West Australian Circus Festival, the South West Craft Beer Fest, Blazing Swan and a host of other events, Private Pickle has been winning fans over with his wicked, uplifting tracks and obvious happiness behind the decks.

Simultaneously building his reputation as a confident and adaptable DJ, whilst refining the art of producing his own sweet dance tunes, it seems that busy and successful times are destined indeed for this switched on young artist.”
